Hi everyone!
Well I was away on my annual holiday with my sister for a week on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain and had a lovely time. I'm refreshed and ready to begin new works. the colours of Spain are very inspiring, I just love them. :-)
Just putting up a few photos for you to see what I mean about colour there! ;-)

The exhibition in Skerries Mills finishes today.
I will also be exhibiting at the Axis centre in Ballymun from the 15th June to mid August if any of you would like to come along to see my work. :-)
As you all know, I just love colour and especially texture. With that in mind,  I am so looking forward to going to the annual "Bloom" flower and garden festival coming up in the Phoenix park on the bank holiday weekend in June to see the most wonderful displays of flowers and gardens, it always gives me such great inspiration for my art.
Leaving you with these paintings that I have been working on .
Have a lovely Sunday everyone. ;-)

A few pics from opening night of my exhibition:

Just a quick hello from me today to say that the opening night of my exhibition went very well and many came on the night. :-) Lovely atmosphere and lovely people and lots of talk about art! It's up until the 17th. I will pop down again this weekend to see how things are going. Lots of interest in my work, which is really lovely. Getting into new work and have a few going at the same time which I love. Going to work on one today which will be a passion flower! In the meantime, I did this one during the week, called "Yellow and blue bearded Iris" in watermedia.
Enjoy your weekend everyone and hopefully we will get some relief from rain!

Well everyone - I am all ready to bring my paintings down to Skerries Mills in about an hour. I have all done and set to go for the opening tomorrow. I have 33 paintings to show and I hope they are received well by the public.
As an artist, I spend so much time in the studio on my own, creating work, but it is only when I put them 'out there' in public for people to see and hopefully appreciate, that I get to hear some feedback for what I do. I'm not a person who likes to be in the public eye so it's a bit of a nerve wracking time for me but usually it's grand when I get there and I relax.
Artists are inclined to be never completely satisfied with their work - for me the process of creating the paintings is the  most satisfying thing, I just absorb myself totally in what I am doing. I often start with an idea and if there are textures involved, I put them down before paint and then it's a process of exploration and I can actually see the possibility of several paintings before I get to the final finished article. :-)
So that's it for now.
Leaving you with two recent watermedia paintings.  The first was so enjoyable doing it with acrylic liquidex inks and I like that when I was doing it the paint ran on to the table in a continuous flow - really like that! Like it could go on forever! :-)
