Hi everyone!
We are well into February now and after having the most dreadful stormy weather since Christmas and its not over yet I think! :-( Roll on Spring-like weather I say. Although stormy, its been quite mild though and lots coming in the garden and in the hedgerows which is hopeful! :-) Lots of erosion in the sand dunes on the beaches locally and I fear for the owners of the chalets living along the seafront as the land on front of their properties is being eaten away more and more.
On the art front, I have one of my paintings in the "Nature through Art" exhibition at Castle Espie Wetlands centre in Co. Down, Northern Ireland until 9th March. I was so pleased to be part of the exhibition at this beautiful place. I got my painting back from the "Hive Emerging" gallery in Waterford, unfortunately it didn't sell but it was good to be part of this exhibition also and I met the gallery owner as he delivered the painting back to me in person which was lovely. My own exhibition which will be called "Nature's art" will be on the first two weeks in July in our local library so I am working towards that at the moment. :-)
I am putting up this latest work for you to see which is entitled "Shield" . It was inspired by an object on our seashore that is there for a long time and has been battered well by all the high tides and storms and is still standing as strong as ever! :-)
"Shield"...mixed media on block canvas....39.37cm x 39.37cm
