Hi everyone!

We are well into February now and after having the most dreadful stormy weather since Christmas and its not over yet I think! :-( Roll on Spring-like weather I say.  Although stormy, its been quite mild though and lots coming in the garden and in the hedgerows which is hopeful! :-) Lots of erosion in the sand dunes on the beaches locally and I fear for the owners of the chalets living along the seafront as the land on front of their properties is being eaten away more and more.
On the art front, I have one of my paintings in the "Nature through Art" exhibition at Castle Espie Wetlands centre in Co. Down, Northern Ireland until 9th March. I was so pleased to be part of the exhibition at this beautiful place. I got my painting back from the "Hive Emerging" gallery in Waterford, unfortunately it didn't sell but it was good to be part of this exhibition also and I met the gallery owner as he delivered the painting back to me in person which was lovely. My own exhibition which will be called "Nature's art" will be on the first two weeks in July in our local library so I am working towards that at the moment. :-)

I am putting up this latest work for you to see which is entitled "Shield" . It was inspired by an object on our seashore that is there for a long time and has been battered well by all the high tides and storms and is still standing as strong as ever! :-)

"Shield"...mixed media on block canvas....39.37cm x 39.37cm

Hi everyone!

Well - January almost over....miserable with all that rain and storms and more to come over the weekend! :-(  Roll on spring I say!
I'm after being sick for the past week with a bad cold/flu-like dose but on the mend now - I hope! :-)

My painting "Red Begonia on old wood" was accepted as part of the WWT Castle Espie Wetlands "Nature through Art" exhibition in Co. Down, Northern Ireland and I am very pleased about that - the exhibition opens on this sat 1st Feb and is on till the 9th March so if you are in the area, why not pop in to see all the art on view and who knows you might even buy one! Also the Wetlands centre itself is a stunningly beautiful place and great for families to visit.

Busy getting work done for my solo exhibition at our local Rush Library in the summer.

Putting up this latest piece for you, no title yet, mixed media on linen canvas.......

Hi everyone,
I go to Spain every year on holiday with my sister to a little place called Torrox, which is just down from Malaga and next town to Nerja which some of you might be more familiar with. We love Torrox and we stay in my sister's wood cabin on a hillside which is part of a camping site called "El Pino". We love it there and everyone knows everyone by now!
To get down to the village, we have to go walk downhill on the dried river bed where there also is a farmers goat track where the farmers herd their goats every day and we love going down this track as its so old-fashioned and full of character and we see the locals and say hello and they have makeshift greenhouses which are covered by plastic sheeting over the tomatoes they grow inside them. They also grow vines which are always laden with grapes and avocados grown very plentifully in the fields.
Many of the farmers have built new houses over the years but have left the old ones still standing nearby or incorporated them as part of the new build. But one of these small houses is one that stands alone, very dilapidated and is crumbling more and more every year. I always take a photo of it with the intention of doing a painting of it and this is the one I am showing you here as I've just finished it. I hope you enjoy it! :-)
