This is a small painting that I have just finished. I am fed up with this winter weather and am looking forward so much to Spring and Summer with its beautiful array of colours in the garden and especially the flowers.  I did this little one from a ref photo that I took last year in the garden. It is 10.16cm x 12.7cm and is done in mixed media on board. :-)
Feel free to comment at any time, nice to get feedback.

Hi everyone,

Brrr...really cold now - of course it is to be expected at this time of year. A slight snow shower yesterday but that's all but elsewhere in the country there was more.
Trying to get motivated after the Christmas and losing my doggie of course but getting there. Was back in the studio yesterday, doing some loosening up exercises using some acrylic inks. I wnjoyed that and will put up what I did k. ;-)
Getting new windows and doors in shortly and wish it was over with as the whole house will be open to the harsh elements when they come for the whole day while they take put the old ones and put in the new! But sure, it will be worth it in the end as these other doors an windows were put in in the early '70's and well overdue a change.
My daughter Alwin got her job and is delighted so that's a good start for her for 2015. Glenn is doing his project with the landscape gardening design of the Kilsarin concrete along with Diarmuid Gavin competition. He has to incorporate Kilsarin products in the design and has a budget so it is intense for him as a student at the moment. He also will be doing a placement with a local landscaper from March and Aiva, his girlfriend will be also doing her placement in Malahide Garden centre - s that's a good start for them too.
I am putting up what I did yesterday for you to see. :-)

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful new year 2015! :-)
Last year was quite a good one for me until my little dog of 16yrs of age died on the 14th December - I was heartbroken as you can imagine. Phoebe saw us all through so many things in those few years and was such a faithful, adorable pet, she will be sadly missed.
Plans then changed for the Christmas day which is usually in my house as I was feeling so low and my family invited me over to theirs which made it a much less stressful Christmas - and I stayed for three days! At their insistence, I might add, not me overstaying my welcome! :-D
Had a lovely time. I didn't do much art over the period but am now back in full swing again. :-)
My camera is not working somehow at uploading today so I can't show you much at this point but will when I get it working again.
In the meantime, Happy New Year to all!

Hi everyone!

Well I haven't been on for a while - busy, busy bee! :-)
I submitted work to a gallery recently and was accepted - so that was good news.  I am having my next exhibition next May in Skerries Mills which is great and I will be working toward that. Got five paintings framed recently so that's good too. Working on more textural pieces and trying out a few new things.
Christmas coming in fast so I will be very busy with all the celebrations, organising things, putting up tree, decorations, shopping for presents etc soon too so art will be put a bit on hold until its over.
I am showing you a new pieces I was working on recently. :-)

Hi everyone. :-)
Haven't been on for a while. Had a wonderful Halloween where we all had a party and dressed up - great fun! Christmas coming fast and furious with all the adverts on the media.

Just got the dates for my next exhibition will be from the 4th to the 17th May 2015 in Skerries Mills so I am looking forward to that and am painting away with that in mind.
Had a few framed lately and left more in.

Putting up a painting from a series I intend to do called "Shield" .
It will be about the shields we put up - layers - to protect ourselves from negative things in life.
From the day we are born, we perceive, take in and feel what is going on around us from the environment and people we interact with etc., sometimes consciously and other times sub-consciously.
In an effort for self preservation, we put up barriers/walls/thick layers and often only let ourselves be vulnerable when we feel safe.
So I will be exploring this idea in the form of various shields.
Looking forward to it.

This is one that I am starting with, not quite finished but you get the idea. :-)
